Adam Johnson was extremely busy
during the summer of 1862. He captured Major John F.
Kimbley on June 20 near Hebbardsville, Kentucky; attacked
Union troops at Henderson, Kentucky, on June 30; again at
Madisonville, Kentucky, on July 5-6; occupied Henderson on
July 17; and captured Newburgh, Indiana, July 18.
